The Israeli army announced that it had monitored members of Hezbollah, saying that they tried to “harm the activity of the Qaraoun Dam,” considering that the dam constitutes a national and strategic infrastructure for Lebanon, and the members were targeted from the air. He pointed out that the Qaraoun Dam is the largest source of water in Lebanon, and is of fundamental importance in the energy, electricity and agricultural sectors. The Israeli army also issued a warning to Hezbollah, stressing that it “will not allow any attempt to harm the dam,” and will act “with great force” against any move of this kind, holding the Lebanese state responsible for protecting national infrastructure and preventing their use for military purposes.
