The US State Department reported that Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed during a call with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun that Hezbollah bears full responsibility for the fighting in Lebanon, stressing the need to stop its attacks immediately. The US State Department added that Rubio informed President Aoun that the Trump administration supports the Lebanese government’s efforts to achieve peace and stability in the country. It also indicated that Hezbollah continues to attempt to obstruct talks with Israel, at the expense of the Lebanese people and their interests.
