The President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, received the Secretary of the Democratic Gathering, MP Hadi Abu Al-Hassan, and during the meeting, the general situation in the country and the latest developments were reviewed, especially related to negotiations and the ceasefire. كما واستقبل الرئيس عون الوزير السابق الياس المر في قصر بعبدا. After the meeting, Al-Murr considered that “negotiating in the midst of war is not surprising, but rather it is the natural path that countries resort to to resolve conflicts and protect their national interests.” He stressed his full confidence in the Lebanese delegation, especially the military team participating in the negotiations, because the military institution represents all Lebanese and bears a history of sacrifices in defending land and sovereignty. Al-Murr expressed his optimism that positive and tangible results can be achieved, in light of the pivotal role played by the Presidency of the Republic and the efforts led by His Excellency the President.
