The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, welcomed the declaration of a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon following the tripartite Washington meeting and supported efforts to end hostilities in Lebanon. He added: I call on Hezbollah and the actors to abide by the decisions of the Lebanese government, and I call on Israel to withdraw from the north of the Blue Line and respect Lebanon’s sovereignty.
