Goalkeeper Mohammed Al Owais led the Saudi national team to a valuable point against Uruguay (1-1) on Monday at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, within the eighth group competitions.
Despite Uruguay's dominance, Saudi Arabia was close to victory after taking the lead with Abdul-Ilah Al-Amiri's goal (41), but Uruguay equalized through Maxi Araujo (80) in a match in which Al-Owais blocked nine attempts.
“The Green” will play its second match in Atlanta with Spain, which was shocked by a draw with Cape Verde, before meeting the latter in the third match in Houston.
