Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri praised in front of his visitors, according to what was reported by Al-Joumhouria newspaper, the return of the people to their homes in the south and the southern suburbs, considering that it reflects their adherence to their land, and left the displaced people the freedom to assess the situation according to their areas. Berri expressed his satisfaction with the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States, saying that Lebanon is included in it whether in terms of ending the war or Israeli withdrawal, considering it an important achievement that reflects positively on everyone. He said it was likely that the ceasefire in Lebanon would hold, stressing the need to ensure Israeli withdrawal, and rejecting the proposal of “experimental areas,” stressing that Lebanon is divided into districts. He pointed out that the implementation of the agreement is governed by international follow-up, with an American and Iranian role, relying on the commitment of its parties to prevent the recurrence of previous violations.
