US President Donald Trump confirmed, during his meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on the sidelines of the G7 summit, that the United States has a “fair and good agreement” with Iran, but stressed that Washington is not investing any money there. Trump pointed out that, “Working with Qatar regarding its mediation to resolve the crisis in the region was an important and positive factor,” adding: “What is important to me is that Iran does not possess a nuclear weapon in any way.” He pointed out that what prompted him to sign the memorandum of understanding was “to ensure that Iran does not possess a nuclear weapon,” stressing that “Iran will not possess a nuclear weapon under the agreement.” Trump warned that if Tehran sought to possess a nuclear weapon, "all hell would break loose." He continued: “There were attempts to change the regime in Iran, but they did not succeed,” praising at the same time the role of Qatar. Regarding Lebanon, Trump said, “Netanyahu must act more responsibly,” noting that he told “Israel” that he did not like its attack on Beirut, revealing that he “suggested to Israel that Syria take over Hezbollah.”
