President Joseph Aoun condemned the ongoing Israeli escalation, stressing that what the south and Bekaa are witnessing today in terms of the expansion of Israeli attacks and more casualties and destruction operations constitute a dangerous and condemnable escalation. Aoun pointed out that the attack on innocent women and children targets all ongoing attempts to establish a ceasefire and end the war, especially after the recent developments witnessed in the relationship between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran. He stressed that these attacks will not stop the work to reach a comprehensive ceasefire as soon as possible, which was recommended by the Lebanese negotiating delegation ahead of the next round of discussions in Washington. He stressed that this issue cannot be lenient, because the comprehensive ceasefire constitutes the basic entry point for discussing other files, most notably the Israeli withdrawal, the deployment of the Lebanese army, and the return of prisoners.
