Prime Minister Nawaf Salam welcomed the new Saudi ambassador to Lebanon, Fahd Al-Dosari, considering that his appointment embodies the depth of fraternal relations between Lebanon and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and confirms the strength of the historical ties between the two countries. This came during a celebration held at the Port of Beirut on the occasion of the launch of the first Lebanese containers heading to the Port of Jeddah, after the decision to lift the ban on Lebanese exports to the Kingdom, in a step described as a turning point in the path of economic relations between the two countries. Salam stressed that Lebanon will no longer be a starting point for any harm towards the Arab countries, but rather a partner in their security, stability and prosperity, pointing out that the return of exports to Saudi markets constitutes a glimmer of hope for farmers in the Bekaa, the south and the north, and for factories and exporters who have been waiting for this step for years. In turn, Saudi Ambassador Fahd Al-Dosari stressed that the decision to resume Lebanese exports reflects the Kingdom’s support for Lebanon’s stability, sovereignty, and the well-being of its people, and its keenness not to use it as a platform to harm its Arab brothers.
