The President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, sent a telegram to the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, offering his condolences to the victims of the unfortunate explosion that occurred in the Barzan factory, expressing his solidarity and Lebanon’s support for the State of Qatar and its brotherly people, in this painful tragedy. The text of the telegram stated: “As I address your Highness with my deepest condolences and sincere feelings of sympathy, I share with you and the people of the sister State of Qatar the pain caused by this accident, asking God Almighty to shower the injured with His mercy and care, and to grant success to the rescue and search teams in their tireless efforts to uncover the missing, and to protect the State of Qatar, its leadership and its people from all harm.” He stressed that "Lebanon, which is united with sisterly Qatar by the bonds of sincere Arab brotherhood and steadfast affection, stands today by your side in this ordeal, sharing your concerns with one spirit and one heart."
