US President Donald Trump confirmed that progress has been made in the negotiation process with Iran to reach a “fair and reasonable” agreement. Trump pointed out that the method followed by Washington in dealing with Tehran will not lead to a global economic depression. He stressed that Iran should not use oil revenues to rebuild its military capabilities, but rather to secure the food needs of its people. Trump explained that any frozen Iranian funds that are released will be used exclusively to purchase food from American farmers. The US President warned that his country would take the necessary measures if Iran misbehaved. Trump stressed that the US administration is making good progress in the negotiation process, and that Iran “will never possess a nuclear weapon.” He also indicated that he is working to solve several problems in the region, including those related to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, asking: “Who said that Israel will not withdraw from Lebanese territory?”
