Coinciding with the commemoration of the tenth of Muharram... traffic measures in the southern suburb

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces, Public Relations Division, issued the following statement:
“The Ashura commemoration ceremony will be held in the southern suburb of Beirut on Friday, June 26, 2026, where a large group of citizens will participate. Therefore, starting at 1:30 a.m. on Friday and until completion, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces will take the following traffic measures:
First:
- Closure of Imad Mughniyeh Avenue in both directions from Al-Sayyad Roundabout to the east, and from Old Airport Road to the west, in addition to the main and secondary roads leading to it.
- Closing the old airport road from Shatila Roundabout until the Cocody Bridge, in addition to the main and secondary roads leading to the bridge.
Second:
Citizens coming from Beirut and wishing to reach Martyr Prime Minister Rafik Hariri International Airport must take the following roads:
– From Cola Roundabout, Ziad Rahbani Highway, all the way to the detour leading to the airport.
– From the UNESCO-Marriott roundabout, Al-Ouzai Main Road, Al-Burj Junction, Al-Nafa’a Bridge, towards Al-Ahed Stadium, all the way to the airport.
– From the UNESCO-Marriott roundabout, Al-Ouzai Main Road, up to Al-Samaka Roundabout, up towards Al-Ahed Stadium Junction, all the way to the airport.
Third:
Citizens coming from the south should take the following roads:
– From the airport tunnels, up to the Cocody detour, towards the old airport road, all the way to the airport.
- From Khaldeh, Marine Road, Ouzai Main Road, up to Al-Samaka Roundabout, up towards Al-Ahed Stadium Junction, all the way to the airport.
It is also prohibited to launch photographic drones of all types, starting at 18:00 on 06-25-2026, and until completion.
Therefore, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces asks citizens to take note and adhere to the instructions and directives of the Internal Security Forces members assigned to carry out this mission, in order to facilitate traffic and prevent congestion.
