The Netherlands defeats Tunisia by three and leads Group F

The Netherlands national team finished the group stage at the top of Group F of the 2026 World Cup, after defeating Tunisia 3-1 in the third and final round, in the match that was held at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. The Dutch team opened the scoring early through an own goal scored by Tunisian player Elias Skhiri by mistake in the third minute, before Brian Brobbey increased the lead with a second goal just four minutes later. In the second half, Hazem Al-Masturi reduced the gap for Tunisia in the 54th minute, but Jan-Paul van Hecke restored the gap to two goals by scoring the third goal for the Netherlands in the 62nd minute. The match coincided with a confrontation between Japan and Sweden within the same group, which ended in a 1-1 draw, raising the Netherlands’ score to 7 points in the lead, followed by Japan with 5 points, then Sweden with 4 points, while Tunisia ended its campaign without any point. With these results, the Netherlands, Japan and Sweden secured qualification tickets to the round of 32, after the Netherlands topped the group, and Japan came second, while Sweden secured passage among the best third-placed teams, while Tunisia exited the tournament without points.
