The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, received a phone call from the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and discussed with him the general situation in Lebanon and the region, in light of recent developments, especially the framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel under the auspices of the United States of America, which was announced this evening in Washington. During the call, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed affirmed that the United Arab Emirates stands by Lebanon and supports the positions taken by President Aoun and the government. He also affirmed his country’s readiness to assist Lebanon in the political, economic and social fields in order to enable Lebanon to overcome the difficult circumstances it is going through. President Aoun thanked Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed for his support, appreciating what the United Arab Emirates is providing towards Lebanon and its people in all fields, wishing it continued stability, strength and progress.
