Amal: The agreement is unbalanced and devotes facts to the enemy’s advantage
Fady Mahouly
The Amal Movement's political office issued a statement in which it considered that the agreement signed between Lebanon and Israel was unbalanced and devoted facts to the enemy's interest at the expense of the national interest, warning that it entails political and sovereign risks and does not constitute the basis for a fair agreement.
The statement affirmed the movement’s rejection of direct negotiations with Israel and its adherence to international legitimacy resolutions, stressing a set of constants, the most prominent of which are: complete Israeli withdrawal from all Lebanese territory up to the internationally recognized borders, and the spread of the Lebanese army and the strengthening of its authority.
He also called for the return of the people to their villages and the initiation of reconstruction, and the continuation of indirect negotiations to resolve the outstanding issues, stabilize the borders, and return the prisoners in accordance with the approved mechanisms.
The statement concluded by emphasizing that any agreement that does not achieve these constants remains rejected and does not guarantee sovereignty or stability, calling on the Lebanese to embrace national unity and miss the opportunity to fight strife.
