During the approval of plans to continue work in the Northern Command, the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, General Eyal Zamir, considered that “the agreement that was signed with the Lebanese government is a historic and important agreement, as the operational strength and military achievements achieved by the army during recent months created the conditions for its conclusion.” He continued, "We will respect the agreement and work to make it successful. The test now is the test of practical application by both parties, and the coming period will determine the features of the future." He added, "The safety of our forces is our top priority. The fighters of the 36th Division and our commando forces control the Beaufort Castle hill area and are equipped with all the necessary tools and means to overcome the enemy. All the army's capabilities are here to continue supporting you in carrying out the mission."
