In this context, the Prime Minister of Greece affirmed his country’s support for the framework formula and the positions taken by President Aoun and the Lebanese government to extend state sovereignty over the entire Lebanese territory, indicating Greece’s readiness to help Lebanon to enable it to overcome the difficult stage that Lebanon is going through in various fields, especially in the field of support for the Lebanese army, as the Prime Minister indicated that the Greek Minister of Defense was assigned to coordinate with his Lebanese counterpart in this regard. European Union Ambassador: The European Union Ambassador to Lebanon, Sandra De Waele, confirmed that “the European Union is Lebanon’s largest partner and supporter, as it provides, together with member states, more than 70% of the total international aid, with a value of approximately 3 billion euros since 2019.” She stressed in a speech after meeting with the President of the Republic that “the European priority is to support the Lebanese state and strengthen its capabilities and institutions in various sectors, from security to education, agriculture, water, and services.” She added: “220 million euros have been allocated since 2023 to support the security sector, including 182 million euros for the Lebanese army, with confirmation of the continued expansion of support programs during the next phase.” Al-Hajjar: On the other hand, the President of the Republic was briefed by the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Ahmed Al-Hajjar, on the results of the official visit he made to Kuwait, and conveyed to him the greetings of the Emir of the State of Kuwait and senior Kuwaiti officials, and their confirmation of their support for President Aoun, Lebanon and its people, and their keenness to strengthen bilateral relations and develop frameworks of cooperation between the two brotherly countries. Al-Hajjar also briefed President Aoun on the launch of the biometric fingerprint service from the Lebanese Embassy in the State of Kuwait, to be circulated successively to Lebanese embassies and consulates around the world, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, indicating that this service will allow Lebanese residing abroad to complete the procedures for taking a biometric fingerprint and send their applications electronically to Lebanon to obtain a biometric passport without the need to come to Lebanon in person. He presented the security reality in the country and the measures and procedures taken by the security services to enhance stability and prevent any attempt to undermine security or disturb public order, stressing that maintaining internal security is a priority and that the state and its security services continue to carry out their duties firmly to ensure the security of citizens and protect civil peace. Traboulsi: President Aoun also received MP Edgar Traboulsi, who announced after the meeting that he called for “amending the decision to cancel the secondary school certificate exams, especially the passing requirement of 9.50/20 for the first semester, due to the unfair failure it caused against thousands of students, who finished their school year successfully, and to adopt success reports for all students this year, or to count the general average of school grades as a basic criterion for success.” He said: “I learned from President Aoun about the atmosphere and course of the Washington negotiations, and I presented my observations and vision regarding them.”
