The Political Bureau of the Phalange Party considered that the framework agreement announced in Washington constitutes a national milestone that consolidates what the Phalange Party has called for for years, and confirms the ability of the Lebanese state and the Lebanese army to protect Lebanon’s interests. He said: “Although it was concluded in difficult circumstances, it opens the door to Israeli withdrawal, reconstruction, the release of prisoners, and the state’s restoration of its full sovereignty by extending the authority of the Lebanese army and puts an end to linking Lebanon to the Iranian project.” The Political Bureau stressed that the success of the agreement remains dependent on its good implementation, and on a political will that protects the state and rejects any attempt to obstruct this path, because the alternative is continued occupation and destruction and keeping Lebanon hostage to illegal weapons. He believed that the threats of sedition and civil war issued by the chorus of resistance are nothing but a call for rebellion against the Lebanese state. He pointed out that the path to restoring the state, led by the President of the Republic, is based on the constitution, state institutions, and the will of the Lebanese who seek to establish a sovereign state that alone monopolizes decision-making and weapons. The Political Bureau welcomed the government's decision to suspend fees associated with the waste plan, and calls for continuing to address the economic and social repercussions left by the war, and tightening price controls.
