Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Raji, affirmed that the negotiating path launched by the Lebanese state is the only and exclusive way to achieve complete Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory, and to reach a permanent agreement that establishes stability and safeguards Lebanon’s rights, sovereignty, and national interests. In a statement issued by him, Raji expressed Lebanon’s appreciation for the efforts and initiatives made by friendly and brotherly countries, and stressed clearly and unambiguously that the current stage requires unifying all efforts, local, regional and international, behind one path led by the Lebanese state alone. He called on all international partners to focus their support on this path as the only legitimate framework qualified to lead to a real and lasting settlement, warning that any parallel paths or alternative frameworks that seek to include the Lebanese file away from the Lebanese state will only produce fragmentation and weaken the Lebanese negotiating position at a very sensitive moment.
