The head of the Lebanese Phalange Party, MP Sami Gemayel, after his meeting with President Joseph Aoun at Baabda Palace, at the head of a delegation from the party, affirmed the Phalange’s support for Lebanese legitimacy and the path to restoring state sovereignty. Gemayel said: “We are visiting Baabda to express our support, as the Phalange Party, for the legitimacy represented by His Excellency the President and Prime Minister, in the process of restoring state sovereignty after 36 years.” He added: "We are all with Lebanon first and last, and this is the approach adopted by the legitimate state institutions under the leadership of His Excellency the President." Regarding the Framework Agreement, Gemayel called for approaching it from the perspective of its national importance, saying: “I hope that those with good intentions will not look at the Framework Agreement from the perspective of searching for loopholes to talk about, but rather from the perspective of the importance of the historical moment and the importance of the agreement and its basis, as a framework for Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon, restoring state sovereignty over all Lebanese territory, and ending the war.”
