Mansi: Lebanon aspires to peace and stability

The Minister of National Defense, Major General Michel Mansi, representing the Lebanese Republic, participated in the official memorial ceremony held in the Iranian capital, Tehran, for the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
Major General Mansi offered condolences to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abbas Araqchi, the Acting Minister of Defense, Major General Seyyed Majeed Ibn al-Rida, and the Head of the Judiciary, Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei.
He wrote in the register of condolences: “I convey to the Islamic Republic of Iran, guide, leadership and people, the condolences of the Lebanese Republic on the martyrdom of His Eminence the Grand Ayatollah Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, asking for his soul to have mercy in the world of eternity, and for the Iranian people and the family of the martyr Imam, for patience and solace.”
Minister Ibn Al-Rida also paid tribute to the Minister of National Defense and the accompanying delegation, considering that the presence of the Lebanese delegation at the memorial ceremony reflects the depth of the historical relations between Lebanon and Iran.
The Iranian Minister of Defense stressed that his country's relations with Lebanon are based on the principle of respect for its sovereignty and state, expressing Iran's aspiration to strengthen the best relations with Lebanon along with other friendly countries, and to establish balanced relations with various countries in the region.
In turn, the Minister of National Defense indicated that his participation came within the framework of offering condolences and expressing, in the name of the Lebanese Republic, respect for the lives that fell and for the sacrifices that were made. He added: "We hope that peace, security and stability will prevail in the entire region, and that it will be a peace based on justice and dignity."
