Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday that “the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip will not take place without dismantling its military structure and disarmament, and the residents of the Strip have the freedom to choose to leave or stay without threatening us.” He said: “The people of Gaza have the freedom to choose between staying or leaving without posing a threat,” noting that “the threat coming from Gaza has been removed.” The Israeli Prime Minister also clarified that what he described as “the threat coming from Gaza” had been removed, stressing that this was achieved by establishing “a new Gaza perimeter inside Gaza,” in reference to the buffer zone established by the army inside the Strip. He also added that removing the threat from Gaza led to an increase in demand for housing in the settlements surrounding the Gaza Strip, in light of what he described as an improvement in the security situation in the region. As for Lebanon, Netanyahu said: We obtained legitimacy to remain along the “yellow line” in southern Lebanon, and Trump did not ask us not to move against Hezbollah’s tunnels. Netanyahu also indicated that Hezbollah blesses the agreement with Iran and attacks our agreement.
