Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Turkey was “a wonderful country, but it is run by someone who openly calls for the destruction of Israel.” He said that weakening Iran opens the door to new peace agreements similar to the Abraham Accords. He stressed that there are no fundamental differences with Washington, pointing out that he and US President Donald Trump differ in their style of expression, “but we are the best allies.” Netanyahu indicated that no date has been set for a meeting with Trump yet, expressing his hope that he would present to him progress on the path to peace with Lebanon.
