US President Donald Trump issued a threat to Iran, stressing that the recent US strikes were in response to the bombing of commercial ships, and threatening a harsher response in the event of repeated attacks.
Trump said, in a post on the “Truth Social” platform: “This is a response to Iran’s bombing of ships yesterday (Tuesday). If the matter is repeated, the response will be much more severe!”
In another statement, the US President revealed that he had received a call from Iran, pointing out that it was desperately seeking to conclude a settlement deal.
He added, "I doubt how serious Iran is in concluding an agreement, and I do not trust that they will adhere to any deal in the future."
Trump pointed out that "our goal is not war, but rather the complete disarmament of Iran and preventing Tehran from possessing nuclear weapons," considering that it is "something that should have everyone's support."
