Former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora affirmed, “after his meeting with the President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, his support for the Lebanese state and its institutions, stressing the exclusivity of the decision of war, peace, weapons, and negotiation in the hands of the state, and refusing to link the Lebanese negotiating track to any other track.” He said: "We express our confidence in the wisdom of President Joseph Aoun and his leadership ahead of his visit to Washington, to achieve Lebanon's rights, end the Israeli occupation, return the displaced, and launch reconstruction." He called for "accelerating the adoption of financial reform laws and cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, because reform is a national necessity to restore the confidence of the international community and achieve economic recovery," adding that "we place all our bets on the wisdom, awareness, patriotism, and courage of the President of the Republic, that he will pour all his efforts into achieving and obtaining Lebanon's rights to liberate its land from the Israeli occupation, which has managed, until now, to expand on Lebanese territory, and this is what partisan practices and decisions outside the Lebanese state have contributed to."
