President of the Republic Joseph Aoun met this Monday evening with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam at Baabda Palace and discussed with him the general situation in the country in general and in the south in particular in light of the continuing Israeli hostilities. The meeting discussed the round of Lebanese-American-Israeli negotiations expected tomorrow and the day after in Rome, and the directives given to the Lebanese delegation on the necessity of demanding the immediate start of the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the two experimental areas before any further discussion. President Salam briefed the President on the results of the official visit he made to Turkey and the outcome of the talks he held with Turkish officials, led by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The discussion also dealt with the visit that President Aoun will make to the United States of America and the meeting that he will hold with US President Donald Trump.
