Iranian media reported, citing the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, that two illegal giant tankers were targeted, causing them to become disabled in the Strait of Hormuz, after they ignored warnings, shut down navigation systems, and attempted to cross a “mined route.” In a statement, the Revolutionary Guard accused the United States of “inciting ships to use an illegal route,” warning that cooperation with the “aggressor enemy” could lead to additional damage and delay in reopening the strait, as well as exacerbating the global energy crisis.
