US President Donald Trump declared that the Strait of Hormuz is open to all ship traffic, except for Iran, due to its “lying, violent, and evil leadership, which is leading it toward total destruction.”
He added via Truth Social: “We will impose a complete blockade, but only on ships heading to or coming from Iranian ports, or carrying any shipments related to Iranian goods.”
He saluted Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Keane, and Commander of US Central Command Admiral Brad Cooper for the flow of oil “thanks to the strength of the US Army.”
He continued: "Based on very productive conversations with Middle Eastern leaders, I decided to replace the 20% US compensation fee with trade and investment deals that various Gulf countries will conclude with the United States."
