The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: An army unit raided the homes of wanted persons in the areas of: Al-Laylaki, Al-Jamous, Old Airport Road - Southern Suburbs, and arrested 5 citizens for shooting during a funeral ceremony on 7/14/2026, and seized a quantity of weapons and military ammunition in their possession. During the raid, members of the unit were exposed to gunfire and responded in kind, wounding one of the wanted men, and he was transferred to a hospital for treatment. The seized items were handed over to the competent authorities, and investigations were launched into the detainees under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
