Head of the Finance and Budget Committee, MP Ibrahim Kanaan, from Baabda Palace, confirmed his support for the steps and positions of President Joseph Aoun during his visit to Washington, considering them “bold options to save Lebanon and complete the road map to stop the war.”
Kanaan stressed, after his meeting with President Aoun, that “what is required is to protect each other by protecting our state, to stop the suffering and the series of destruction and enslavement of Lebanon,” noting that “the message is the message of the Blessed Patriarch Howayek.”
He pointed out that he informed the President of the Republic of the banking structure law, announcing that the Finance and Budget Committee will put the final touches tomorrow on the banking reform law, explaining that he put President Aoun in the positive climate surrounding the law, which aims to restore the confidence of Lebanese depositors and investors.
Kanaan concluded by saying: “The title of the law is rights first and foremost. We legislate for rights, not interests.”
