The US Embassy in Beirut announced that it is closely following developments in the situation in the Middle East, calling on American citizens to make their decisions regarding personal safety based on developments.
She confirmed in a statement that the US government is ready to assist its citizens who wish to leave the region, by providing them with the latest information about the available travel options.
The embassy indicated that commercial flights are still available through Middle East Airlines from Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut, calling on Americans to “seriously consider” the option of departing on these flights if they consider it safe.
She stressed that the safety and security of American citizens remains a top priority for the US administration, in light of continuing regional tensions.
