The Cassation Public Prosecutor, Judge Ahmed Rami Al-Hajj, wrote a search and investigation report against the former Governor of the Bank of Lebanon, Riad Salama, in order to prevent him from attending the investigation session that was scheduled with him today in the Bank of Lebanon’s lawsuit against him and against the Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Bank Audi,” Samir Hanna. The search and investigation report came after Salama’s agent pledged to appear today before Judge Al-Hajjar, and announced that his client had fallen ill and was taken to the hospital. The Cassation Public Prosecution Office found that Salama had not been transferred to the hospital emergency room and was not found at three addresses listed for him, which were in Safra, Faqshara, and Rabieh, which forced Al-Hajj to issue a search and investigation report and consider him abstaining from appearing before the judiciary. Judge Al-Hajj decided to release Samir Hanna in exchange for a financial bail of one million US dollars, and gave him until Monday to pay the bail in cash.
