President of the Republic Joseph Aoun said on the occasion of the anniversary of the army martyrs, “On this day, we stand in reverence before the memory of the martyrs of our national army, who sacrificed their lives in sacrifice for the sovereignty of Lebanon, the unity of its land, and the dignity of its people. They are men who believed that the nation deserves the most precious sacrifices, so they went on the path of duty without hesitation, and wrote with their blood the purest pages of heroism and belonging. He pointed out that the martyrs of the Lebanese Army are not numbers that are forgotten with the passage of time, but rather they are a living symbol of the meaning of loyalty and redemption, and an example that every soldier who wears the military uniform today emulates in defense of the nation’s borders, its institutions, and the security of its citizens. Aoun stressed that their memory is entrusted to us, and our gratitude to them is only complete by preserving the values for which they were martyred: a free, sovereign, independent Lebanon. Aoun affirmed before the families of the martyrs and before all the Lebanese that the Lebanese state remains faithful to its covenant, committed to caring for the families of the martyrs and preserving their legacy, and their memory will remain a beacon that guides us in the process of building the nation and supporting its military institution, which embodies the unity of all Lebanese. He concluded, “Glory to our martyrs, eternity to their memory, and glory to our army, the faithful guardian.”
