US President Donald Trump announced that a new round of negotiations with Iran will begin on Monday evening, after suspending plans to launch military strikes, conditioning a quick agreement. Trump told reporters, on Sunday, on Air Force One: “It is clear that they did not want to be attacked. They were aware of the scale of the attack because they saw its signs forming. Currently, we are holding talks with them within the framework of negotiations that will begin on Monday evening.” He added that there is an agreement regarding the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that "there will also be an agreement regarding the Iranian nuclear program." Trump explained: “We were planning to carry out the largest attack on Iran since World War II.” He also said: “I would rather conclude an agreement with Iran than launch a military strike against it.” He added: "We intended to carry out a comprehensive attack on Iran, but some leaders in the region preferred to reach an agreement."
