The Customs Administration announced that the Smuggling Investigation Division was able, as part of the efforts aimed at combating smuggling operations, to raid a number of shops in the city of Sidon specializing in the sale of perfumes, watches and women’s bags, where it was found that the goods displayed bore forged and smuggled international trademarks. She indicated that the confiscated quantities were seized in preparation for taking the necessary legal measures against violators. In a related context, the Division was able to stop a car in the Minya area, inside which quantities of smuggled tobacco materials were found. The seized items were confiscated and legal action was taken regarding them.
