The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates summoned the Iranian Chargé d'Affairs in Lebanon, Tawfiq Samadi Khoshkho, and the Secretary-General, Ambassador Abdel Sattar Issa, met with him and informed him of the Lebanese state's decision to withdraw approval of the accreditation of the Iranian ambassador-designate, Mohammad Reza Shibani, and declare him persona non grata, while demanding that he leave Lebanese territory no later than next Sunday, the twenty-ninth of March 2026. In the same context, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Lebanese Ambassador to Iran, Ahmed Suwaidan, for consultations, against the backdrop of what the Lebanese state described as Tehran’s violation of the norms of diplomatic interaction and its established principles between the two countries.
