A source close to the leadership of the Lebanese delegation negotiating with Israel revealed that the date for the new round of negotiations in September “is not yet fixed,” and that its holding, from the Lebanese side, is no longer a settled matter or separate from what Israel will do on the ground during the next stage. The source explained that the Lebanese position has become clear in terms of refusing to go to a new round simply for the continuation of the negotiating track, at a time when Israel continues its military operations in the south. He pointed out that "Lebanon will not participate in any new round unless Israel agrees to the Lebanese conditions," at the forefront of which is a comprehensive ceasefire and a halt to the bulldozing and destruction operations carried out by Israeli forces in a number of southern towns.
