Representative Najat Aoun Saliba warned, in a radio interview, of “Israeli ambitions in Lebanese lands,” considering that “publishing an Israeli map that includes southern Lebanon in Israeli lands raises fears and confirms the necessity of using all diplomatic means to pressure Israel and push it to withdraw from all occupied Lebanese lands.” She believed that "Hezbollah creates excuses to justify keeping its weapons," noting that "its practices contributed to reaching the current situation and the resulting Israeli occupation." Regarding Lebanon’s threat to suspend direct negotiations, she pointed out that “the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister are not only counting on American support, but are working through wide diplomatic channels with European, Arab and friendly countries, with the aim of mobilizing international support to restore sovereignty over all Lebanese lands.” She pointed out that "Israel will not be able to ignore the American position indefinitely," considering that "any continued challenge to Washington may lead to the creation of more opponents inside and outside Israel."
