For the first time... Putin visits the disputed Kuril Islands

Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Iturup Island, one of the Kuril Islands chain that both Russia and Japan claim as sovereign.
The official TASS news agency reported that Putin "visited the Kuril Islands for the first time" and inspected the flagship of the Pacific Fleet.
According to the video footage released by the Kremlin, Putin also visited the "Yasny" fish processing complex, inspected the production capacities, spoke with employees, tasted caviar, and took a souvenir photo with the facility's staff.
