The Nahr Ibrahim Municipality announced in a statement that, “After receiving Mr. Nabil Saliba’s letter regarding stopping work on private generators within the municipality, and after the municipal council met in an emergency session on August 12, 2026, and based on Municipal Resolution No. 96/2026, Mr. Saliba was asked to complete the operation of his private generators within the municipality until September 30, 2026.” The statement explained that "the municipality will work to pay the monthly deficit resulting from differences in official tariffs and operating conditions, by securing the diesel fuel necessary for operation and paying the deficit based on technical and accounting reports prepared by specialists." The statement indicated that, “As of this date, electricity will be cut off to subscribers who have not paid their due subscriptions, without the need for any review or justification.” In the context of ensuring the continuity of electrical supply during this stage, the municipality noted that it had made contact with the Byblos Electrical Contracting Company, affiliated with the Jbeil Electricity Concession, and coordinated with it to extend an alternative generator network within the municipality during the coming period. The municipality asked all subscribers wishing to benefit from the alternative network to contact the aforementioned company and submit new applications, stressing that applications will be accepted without exception, provided that a release of liability is presented from Mr. Nabil Saliba when carrying out the installation process. The municipality concluded its statement by emphasizing that "its commitment to providing alternative energy to the population is accompanied by the necessity of the subscribers' cooperation and commitment to paying their financial obligations, which contributes to ensuring the continuity of electrical supply within the scope of the Ibrahim River."
