The Islamic Republic of Iran announced today, Saturday, that it had reached an agreement with the Sultanate of Oman regarding the “map of maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei noted, “Despite the American obstacles, the discussions between Iran and Oman witnessed positive progress. He stressed that an agreement had been reached on a map of maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. Baqaei considered that “the agreement is the result of joint institutional cooperation between various state agencies, led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and with the active participation of the country’s defence, security and environmental sectors.”
