After meeting with the Grand Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian, at Dar Al Fatwa, MP Adeeb Abdel Masih stressed “the necessity of going to the Lebanese state and to the logic of coexistence that we remembered in the recent past with the beatification of Patriarch Howayek in Diman.” He pointed out that “the Lebanese army, before it needs material support, needs moral support from us, joining hands and true national fusion, not only in words but in deed, so that we can all reach safety.” Mufti Derian later received the Army Commander, General Rudolph Heikal, and discussed with him the situation on the Lebanese scene. Derian affirmed before Heikal that he stands by the army and supports it in preserving the stability and safety of the nation.
