President Joseph Aoun received, today, Wednesday, at Baabda Palace, the French Chargé d'Affaires in Lebanon, Bruno da Silva, who delivered to him a message from French President Emmanuel Macron that included an invitation to Lebanon to participate in a preparatory meeting to be held in Paris on September 17, in preparation for the international conference in support of the Lebanese Armed Forces and the Internal Security Forces, with the participation of military delegations and experts from several countries.
Aoun also received a delegation from the Board of Directors of the National Council for Scientific Research, headed by Dr. Asaad Eid, and noted the Council’s role in helping to rebuild state institutions and providing the government and departments with the necessary studies and research, stressing that “building the state is a shared responsibility.”
Aoun said: “Let your work be for the public interest, and confidence in you is complete through your achievements.”
Aoun stressed the work to “return Lebanon to the world map,” stressing the continuation of efforts to rebuild the state in parallel with working to end the current situation in the south.
He considered that “the greatest challenge is reconstruction after Israel’s withdrawal from the occupied towns and villages and the deployment of the army to the border.”
