A European military delegation discusses enhancing security and safety in the port of Beirut

A military delegation from the European Union, within the “CSDP FFM” mission, held a meeting at the Beirut Port Administration and Investment, today, Thursday, in the presence of the Director General of Land and Sea Transport, Brigadier General Mazen Basbous, devoted to discussing ways to enhance cooperation and coordination in the areas of security and safety and developing the procedures adopted in the port.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Port of Beirut, Marwan Al-Nafi, began the meeting with a speech in which he reviewed the most prominent challenges that the port has experienced, stressing the importance of developing it and enhancing its capabilities to restore its pivotal role and position among the ports of the Mediterranean.
During the meeting, Al-Nafi stressed the importance of cooperating with the European Union and benefiting from its extensive experience in developing security and safety systems, as well as applying international standards approved in global ports.
