US Ambassador Michel Issa announced that “all the Lebanese agree that Hezbollah will surrender its weapons,” stressing that “the party’s only message is that it surrender its weapons and that the weapons be in the hands of the state alone.” Issa considered that “there is communication between President Aoun and Hezbollah, whether directly or indirectly.” He continued: “We always ask Israel to stop and ease its strikes, noting that the party does not offer any step in return.” He added: “Hezbollah does not want to talk with the state, nor with the United States, nor with Israel, because it receives orders from Iran.”
