The Amal Movement in the South Region organized a massive cultural symposium on the 48th anniversary of the disappearance of Imam Musa al-Sadr and his two companions, in Martyr Niamat Marwa Square in the town of Saksakiyah, attended by the Commissioner General of the Scouts of the Islamic Message, Qasim Obaid, the official in charge of the Central Youth and Sports Office in the movement, Ali Yassin, members of the Political Bureau, Hassan Qablan and Nidal Hoteit, the organizational official of the Amal Movement in the South Region, Dr. Abbas Mugharbel, heading a delegation from the region’s leadership, and a number of Members of the movement’s advisory council, a delegation from the Women’s Affairs Office, the leadership of the sixth region in the southern region, movement and scout leaders, municipal and optional activities, a group of scholars, and a crowd of people from the town of Saksakiyah and the surrounding area. Two kisses The symposium began with a verse from the Holy Quran, then the Lebanese anthem and the Amal Movement anthem. Then, member of the Amal Movement’s political bureau, Hassan Qabalan, gave a lecture entitled “The Homeland’s Trust in the Thought of Imam al-Sadr,” at the beginning of which he spoke about the Imam’s approach, his line of faith and patriotism, and his constant calls “to preserve unity and civil peace, and his anticipation of the dangers of Israeli aggression.” In his lecture, Qabalan touched on the political and field developments as a result of Israel’s continuation of its destructive war on the south and Lebanon, stressing that “the Amal Movement does not oppose for the sake of opposition, and that its position on direct negotiation and its rejection of it is not a democratic position,” indicating that “the path of direct negotiation will not lead to any result, and rejecting this path and position on it is not an improvised position.” He said: "We are neither advocates of sedition nor advocates of concessions. We are advocates of unity and dialogue. Come to a national meeting that unites positions and visions regarding how to confront the repercussions resulting from Israel's intensification and continuation of its war and aggression."
