Within the framework of the continuous follow-up carried out by the Internal Security Forces to pursue those involved in drug smuggling and drug trafficking operations, and within the framework of the security plan drawn up by the Judicial Police Unit aimed at combating the drug scourge and limiting its spread, information was available to the Central Narcotics Control Office about a person of Nigerian nationality smuggling cocaine into Lebanon via the airport, by swallowing it in the form of capsules, and that the suspect He had entered Lebanese territory at dawn on 8/14/2026.
Through extensive and diligent surveys and investigations carried out by the aforementioned office’s patrols, and as a result of collecting and interrupting information, his whereabouts were determined inside a hotel in the Hamra locality.
Orders were given to the office’s patrols to monitor and follow him closely, with the aim of arresting him.
On 8/16/2026, a force from the office raided his place of residence and arrested him in a surprise operation. It was found that his name was:
A. S. (Born in 1984, Nigerian nationality).
78 capsules containing cocaine were found in his possession, with a total weight of 1.8 kg.
The legal requirements were carried out against the detainee, and the seized items were deposited with the competent judiciary.
