US Central Command announced launching new strikes on Iranian targets today, stressing that the strikes came after recent offensive attempts by the Revolutionary Guards that targeted shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
A US official said on Tuesday evening: “We carried out precise defensive strikes on sites in Bandar Abbas, Iran.”
Iranian media reported that five explosions were heard in the village of Musan on Qeshm Island and four in the Strait of Hormuz.
Fars Agency revealed "explosions sounded in the cities of Kanarak and Chabahar in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, southeastern Iran."
There were also reports of an explosion at Qeshm Airport.
