The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: “Army units implemented security measures in various areas, including raids and setting up temporary checkpoints, with the aim of pursuing those who disturbed security and combating illegal infiltration into Lebanese territory. As a result, they arrested 10 citizens and 108 Syrians according to the following: • The arrest of the citizen (H.J.) in the Al-Safari area - Baalbek, for the crime of shooting at the house of a member of the Internal Security Forces on 8/19/2026. • Citizens: (B.A.), (Y.A.), (A.A.), (J.A.) were arrested in the town of Taybeh - Baalbek for shooting and intimidating citizens, and a quantity of weapons and military ammunition was seized in their possession. • They raided the home of the citizen (A.M.) in the town of Hor Taala - Baalbek and arrested him, for helping the wanted persons in monitoring the army’s movements. • The two citizens (A.D.) and (A.D.) were arrested in the town of Nabi Yusha’ - Al-Minya Al-Dinniyeh for shooting and intimidating citizens, and a quantity of weapons and military ammunition was seized in their possession. • They raided the home of the citizen (K.N.) in the town of Hosh al-Sayyid Ali - Hermel and arrested him, due to his involvement in a dispute that included gunfire, which led to the injury of two people. • The citizen (A.M.) was arrested in the town of Lhasa - Jbeil for shooting during a dispute on 8/31/2026. • 108 Syrians were arrested in different areas for illegally entering Lebanese territory and moving around without legal papers. The seized items were handed over to the competent authorities and investigations were initiated with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judiciary.”
