The first Lebanese woman, Neamat Aoun, began a series of field visits to institutions and associations that care for the displaced from towns and villages that were subjected to Israeli attacks. She visited the headquarters of the Lebanese Food Bank Association in Sin El Fil before noon today, where she met the association’s president, Mona Kanaan, its vice president, Waseem Sinno, and its secretary, Ghana Jaroudi. She was briefed on the work that the association is doing in collecting and distributing urgent aid to displaced families in various Lebanese regions to show solidarity with them in these difficult circumstances they are going through.
The first Lebanese woman listened to the course of aid distribution, which included, from March 1 to March 26, 5,250 full rations, and 21 tons of dry food and agricultural products.
The association also distributed the contents of two containers of 40 tons of clothing each. Also, 90,440 hot meals were distributed to shelters for displaced people in Akkar, Sidon, Baalbek, Western Bekaa, Niha, Akkar and other Lebanese regions.
The first Lebanese woman praised “the work of the Lebanese Food Bank and other associations that have dedicated their activities to caring for the displaced,” considering that “this sincere and loving work embodies the solidarity of the Lebanese with each other, and strengthens national unity, which was and will remain the basis for the steadfastness of Lebanon and its people in the face of the challenges that confront it from time to time.”
She pointed out that "this sublime and noble act reflects the highest meanings of humanity, solidarity and citizenship, that is, the true image of Lebanon and its people."
